You will be collected from the airport by our guide and taken to your suitable accommodation before tour have dinner and overnight.
The company driver picks you up from your hotel and drives to Bwindi impenetrable National Park. This is a long drive of approximately 8 hours with a lunch stop-over en-route. Even though the drive is long, you will go through different landscape including Tropical Rain Forests, Savannah fields and the terraced hills of Kigezi famously known as the Switzerland of East Africa. Arrival is late in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and over night at Gorilla Mist Camp.
After early morning breakfast, with your picnic lunch we then take a short drive to the Park offices for a briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who gives a talk on the etiquette of Gorilla trekking. We then hike into the forest to a spot where gorillas were seen the previous night and track from there. The terrace is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding take, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery makes the trekking worthwhile. It is recommended that you take plenty of water with you on the trek. Cameras and plenty of fast speed films are recommended.
Being a tropical forest, it may rain at no notice, hence need to bring with you waterproof clothings, including Zip lock bags for cameras and film. Other things to come with include, Sturdy hiking boots,long pants, gloves and a rain coat. The maximum time spent with the gorillas is 1hour. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp.
After breakfast, start on the long drive back to Entebbe/Kampala with the memory of the great rare mountain apes. Lunch en-route and a stopover at at the equator line and Igongo cultural center, arrival late in evening in Kampala and transfer to Entebbe international airport.
