Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is found in the South Western Uganda at the junction of the plain and mountain forest, Bwindi Park covers 3200 ha and it’s known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of Ferns. Many types of birds and butterflies can also be found there as well as many endangered species, including the Mountain Gorilla. Spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys, Bwindi is the source of five major rivers, which flows into Lake Edward. Its mist covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400species of plants. More famously, this Impenetrable forest also protects an estimated 459 mountain gorillas-roughly half of the World population including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. This biological diverse region also provides shelters to further 120 mammals. The Bwindi is appropriately named as 'Impenetrable forests'.
Bwindi impenetrable national park is a forest nestled in the South Western part of Uganda shared amongst the districts of Kabale, Kisoro and Kanungu. The distance from Kampala to Bwinidi is approximately 540Km. The main entry point to Uganda is Entebbe international Airport which is 46km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can also be reached from a number of directions for example by road one can access the park from Queen Elizabeth national park in Mweya which is approximately 170kms. And you can also access the Park from Kampala, Kabale, Kanungu, Buhoma, it takes 440km taking 100Km and 6hrs of drive then from Kabale Ruhija-Buhoma it takes 100km and Kabale Nkuringo 90km route.
The home of over half mountain gorillas in the world with a variety of bird species. It is located in South estern Uganda. This is a typical rain forest which received heavy rain falls.

There is a variety of accommodation places to say basing on which Gorilla group you are to track. Bwindi impenetrable forest reserve was set up in 1942 and it was renovated in 1993/1994. Choosing the best safari lodge or accommodation will depend on how much you can afford. Some lodges charge as high as 2500USD while the budget ones can pocket as low as 50USD for a double room. It is all about the facilities, Location, food, services and so much more.
Bwindi is cold in the morning, and in the nights with moderate temperatures 1oc and 20oc. Actually the coldest time in Bwindi is from June to July, while the wet season start in March to May as well as from September to November experiencing a total annual rainfall of 2390mm the rains received in March to May are actually short. September to November receives heavier although these are long hours of gentle drizzles.
